For piano.Difficulty: advanced to difficult.Felix Blumenfeld (1863-1931) was not only a well-known composer, but also a great pianist and renowned professor. One of his master pupils was Vladimir Horowitz. As a conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre, he conducted the world premiere of Scriabin’s Symphony No. 3 and his »Poème de l’ Extase« as well as several operas of his teacher Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, among others. He also conducted the Russian premiere of Wagner’s »Tristan and Isolde«. Blumenfeld’s piano works wrongly fell out of favour.
